Perhaps it's back to nature: hiking in a pristine rainforest, seeing a live volcano, or watching whales and dolphins. Maybe you love water sports: whitewater rafting, sailing, fishing, surfing, snorkel or scuba. Or fun on the land: ziplining, cycling, golf. Or just chilling on an endless stretch of unspoiled beach, lulled by the lapping of the waves on the shore, awaiting yet another spectacular sunset.
Now imagine a place that has all these things and more. Costa Rica has it all. And the Northwest Pacific area puts it all within easy reach.
We are a Canadian family based in the beautiful Caledon Hills northwest of Toronto. We value living close to nature and wanted a second home in Costa Rica that gave us the same benefits we enjoy in Canada. We toured everywhere in the country, and fell in love with the area around Bahia Potrero (see map).
Surfside is a real community, not a holiday resort. Some residents are permanent, some come for the winter, and some just for a few weeks. The people are a mix of Canadians, Americans, Europeans and Costa Ricans of all ages from infants to retirees. It's the kind of place where visitors feel immediately at home.
